As most people know, the Three Stooges began their career in vaudeville and moved on to enjoy success in films. In 1965, at the height of their “second” career in television, a series of 156 full-color Three Stooges cartoons premiered to an audience hungry for anything Stooge-related. In addition to providing the voices of their animated counterparts, the real Larry (Larry Fine), Moe (Moe Howard), and Curly Joe (Joe DeRita) introduced each cartoon in live-action vignettes. Originally aired on Saturday mornings,
the series shows the Stooges in their hallmark slapstick situations, but taken just a step farther through the versatility of cartoons.
